As you read, Multiplayer craft is a modpack i made with my friend, Minequaftor for easy use with multiplayer modded minecraft. Heres the history!
On 3/7/23, A good friend, Minequaftor, and I made this modpack to make peer-to-peer modded Minecraft sessions better. Its original name was Multiplayer and Friends, and that was its only purpose at first. We put it on CurseForge for the public mostly because we could do it in just a couple clicks. There wasn’t any big reason behind it. Because of that, we didn’t expect much. We definitely underestimated how much it would grow, and it ended up getting pretty popular.
We introduced a new fork of the modpack that became the main version, called Multiplayer Craft LITE. We aren’t exactly sure when the name change happened, but it’s assumed it was sometime around May.
The first Creative modded server launched, hosted from my main computer. It was only played on by friends.
We reached 1,001 downloads and kept growing, hitting 1.5k and then 1.6k in the weeks that followed. I don’t know the exact details of the milestones or when we hit them.
We partnered with Bisect Hosting to run our server, which was an amazing opportunity for the modpack and the community. It made hosting easier, improved performance, and helped more people join and play together.
We hit 1,900 downloads and made a poll to let the community choose a mod for the update I was working on. It was a fun way to get people involved and have a say in the modpack’s direction.
We hit 2,000 downloads, which was a huge shock. I haven’t the foggiest how much we updated it between January 15 and May 11, but I’m guessing it was a pretty good amount.
In May of 2024, my interest in modding kinda dissolved. I became more interested in different games. I hoped to get back into the buisness in september of 2024 but life, BSA, and other commitments got into the way.
As well as that, i tried cancelling the modpack MULTIPLE times because i wasnt getting the support i needed.. But i did change my mind after i stopped supporting the modpack..
February 4th was the day I realized it had hit 200 downloads without any updates. Because of that, I made a decision and redid everything about the modpack. New mods, a new logo, and especially a new theme. Around this time, my partnership with Minequaftor fizzled out and we went our separate ways (we're just friends. Im not gay).
We got 3,002 downloads. It took a little under a year to get 1,000 downloads.. so yeah :)
Life got in the way. Yeah… again. I know. Four days later, I created Project: sandbox.
Thanks for reading! This page was created to document the history of my first big project. It was hard work and i would seriously do it again.
